Introduction to Advanced Manual UAV Pilot Training, presented by Performance Drone Works
Warrior Expo West attendees who register for the one-hour training will experience a snapshot of the five-day, hands-on course designed to give elite military operators with no prior manual UAV experience functional competency in the safe operation and effective piloting of high-performance manual UAVs.
The curriculum informs participants on all things required for the safe and effective usage of FPV quadcopter drones for in-field use.
Day 1: Classroom
LEARN & BUILD
Overview of FPV flight, equipment, RF technologies, drone input control and live demonstration. Drone assembly module provides participant the change to build a drone from start to finish.
Day 2: Simulator
Full day of virtual flying using DRL’s state-of-the-art FPV simulator intended as a 1:1 replica of a performance drone that replicate world flight with accurate physics. Participant completes engaging lesson series.
Day 3/4: Flight
Participant will receive an in-depth instruction on radio transmission necessary for FPV flight in addition to gaining experience flying an ultra-durable small-scale FPV training drone.
Day 5: Advanced Flight
FULL MANUAL FLIGHT
Under the instruction of a professional DRL pilot, participants will operate a race-equipped Racer3 craft through various courses designed to simulate real-world environments..
