RETIRED 4-STAR GEN. JAMES CONWAY SET FOR JULY SPEECH IN VIRGINIA BEACH
Virginia Beach, Va. – Retired Gen. James Conway, the 34th Commandant of the United States Marine Corps, will serve as the keynote speaker at ADS Warrior Expo East in July.
One of the nation’s most highly-decorated Marine Corps generals, Conway will address the expected 3,000 attendees and 300 exhibitors at the premier industry event for government and defense industry professionals on July 11 at 0900.
The four-star general’s speech will kick off the popular, two-day defense resource and training expo, held every year at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.

Beginning his military career as an infantry officer in 1970, General Conway’s postings include serving as the director of operations (J-3) on the Joint Chiefs of Staff and commanding general of I Marine Expeditionary Force from 2002–2004, where he took part in the 2003 invasion of Iraq and Operation Vigilant Resolve in Fallujah, Iraq.
During his speech, Gen. Conway is expected to address leadership, team building, crisis management, military energy sources, and challenges the United States likely will face over the next five to 10 years.
