CAMP BULLIS MODULAR TRAINING CAMP AND LATRINES

EXPED Modular Building Image

Challenge

Camp Bullis needed a comprehensive training site and required latrine facilities for remote training sites.

Solution

ADS worked with our partner to deploy 9,000 sq ft of customized modular space to Camp Bullis utilizing relocatable facilities. This allowed the training group at Camp Bullis to acquire a relocatable HQ facility, radio maintenance facility and classrooms with a modular interior build out with integrated millwork including technology, digital displays and VTC capabilities. The facility is fully operational on the training site with the EBS sto -away generator powered micro - grid system. Expeditionary Building Systems deployed 240’ latrine units to Camp Bullis. These container units are stand alone and connected to the installed Sto -Away Micro grid. They include full HVAC, toilets and urinals. One unit is subdivided to create a women’s restroom while one is a full men’s unit. Each latrine is set up on an EBS remote kit including water tanks, pumps and waste tanks. These units are fully stand-alone from any existing utilities at the remote training site.

POWER FORWARD IN THE BATTLESPACE

Microgrid power systems reduce fuel consumption by 25-80 percent at Forward Operating Bases (FOBs). With proper planning and design, the system cuts the overall man hours required to operate in austere environments where the procurement of fuel supply is dependent on theater logistics.

As a Defense Logistic Agency's distributor, ADS created a direct link between customers and manufacturers spurring innovation and allowing for agile application of design, testing, and redesign.

For soldiers, harnessing and maintaining power is essential for operating efficiently. Up to 60 percent of base camp generator power goes to environment control, according to the U.S. Army, the Army Materials Systems Analysis Activity, and Project Manager Expeditionary Energy and Sustainment Systems.

THE FUTURE OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Technology designed to improve situational awareness on the battlefield has increased a Marine rifleman's power burden by 40 percent. An Army infantryman has a power requirement of up to 2kW for the communications equipment he carries. The search is on for batteries that provide a power density of 1,000 Wh/kg.

Carrying nearly 20 pounds of batteries on a 72-hour mission increases the physical burden on today's warfighter. The solution for lightening this load lies in more powerful batteries, portable chargers, and the ability to harvest solar power or cannibalize battlefield sources.

Renewable Hybrid Systems that support forward operating bases as well as CONUS locations to take grid power off line as well as some generators off line with our hybrid energy storage systems/ Available in a variety of [power and energy configurations and scalable from kWh's to mWh's.
