WeaponLogic, a passive RFID shot counter, was the center of a lot of media attention while at SHOT Show 2017. In this video, Monkey from Milspec Monkey interviews Robb Meng, WeaponLogic subject matter expert and employee for Secubit USA. Robb walks the viewer through the process of how the passive RFID shot counter technology works and gives a sneak peek into the back end of the software.
WeaponLogic maximizes the lifecycle of weapons while facilitating more accurate inventory and maintenance at a reduced cost. Meng provides a comprehensible explanation of how this technology works:
"It is a passive RFID shot counter. So, what it does is provide a check engine light for your gun. When your vehicle needs to change its oil or put air pressure in its tires, it notifies you, right? Same thing here. It’s notifying the armorer of what needs to be done, when you need to change your barrel and tracks all maintenance history."
