This week, the ADS Army team is attending the National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS) General Conference & Exhibition in Detroit. ADS proudly supports ARMY Senior Regional Account Manager Russell Thompson, who serves on NGAUS’s Corporate Advisory Panel (CAP).

NGAUS is the National Guard’s legislative advocate in Washington, educating Congress on the roles, capabilities, and requirements of the “nation’s first military force.” The CAP’s mission: To foster National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS) and Industry relationships, thus supporting their mutual goal of enhancing and promoting modernization and readiness of the Army National Guard (ARNG) and Air National Guard (ANG).

As a member of the NGAUS CAP, Russell and fellow panel members provide support with the relationship between industry and NGAUS. “Our job, to put it simply, is to help industry best support the National Guard and NGAUS. It is hard for individual companies to understand the dynamic of the National Guard and NGAUS. We are here to help educate industry and facilitate recommendations to NGAUS.” he shared. Additionally, they are responsible for encouraging dialogue through established channels and holding corporate member meetings at the four major annual forums, such as the NGAUS General Conference in Detroit on August 23-26.

Russell's position on the panel strengthens the relationship that makes ADS a trusted partner to the National Guard, offering industry insight and guidance that the Guard needs to address its most important supply challenges. These responsibilities enhance ADS’s extensive reach and resource access, while direct involvement in resolving key industry issues fosters ongoing education and improvements for future efforts by ADS and the National Guard.
