Director of Logistics Quawnishia Morgan finds time to earn prestigious national award for her wide-ranging support of U.S. Naval Aviation

As Atlantic Diving Supply’s Director of Logistics, Quawnishia Morgan stays busy helping our company move over 50,000 products to United States military service members every year.

You’d think that would be enough “busy” for one year. Yet somehow, the U.S. Navy veteran, spouse and mother of 3 managed to find time to win the Association of Naval Aviation’s 2020 Dorothy Flatley Award for Commander, Naval Air Force Atlantic. The prestigious national award recognizes the wide-ranging support a spouse can provide to Naval Aviation.

Quawnishia, whose husband, Juan, serves as U.S. Navy Senior Chief Aviation Electrician's Mate, was given the honor for her service as Ombudsman for Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 5 - the “World Famous Nightdippers,” based at Naval Station Norfolk.

“Ms. Morgan and our Ombudsman program are instrumental to the numerous successes of the HSC-5 ‘Nightdippers,’” CDR Chandra Newman, Commanding Officer HSC-5, said in announcing the award. “The devotion to the well being of our families, single sailors and extended families is essential to our mission of ‘Rescue, Protect, and Deliver.’ She has answered the late night phone calls and emails, endured the challenges of a 10-month extended deployment, and tackled every hardship currently experienced in the COVID world. We are blessed to have her on the team.”

Jason Wallace, Atlantic Diving Supply CEO, said the award is just one more example of Quawnishia’s never-ending focus and determination to get the job done right, and support the people around her.

“Quawnishia never loses sight of her priorities,” said Wallace, “and what’s so amazing is that she still continues to serve the warfighter on so many fronts every day, both here at work and in her personal life, even after her own military career ended. We’re just so honored to have someone like Quawnishia on our team.”

Raised in Baltimore, Quawnishia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, and served in the Navy for 6 years. Now a proud military wife and mother of 3, Quawnishia is a member of the Hampton Roads Chief Petty Officer Spouse Association, and stays active in an “eMentor'' online mentoring program that helps military members transition from military to civilian life. Since 2018, she has served as Command Ombudsman for HSC-5 under three successive Commanding Officers. From everyone at Atlantic Diving Supply, Congratulations Quawnishia!
