Twenty years ago, when our founders learned that the Navy SEALs in our own community had equipment and logistics needs that weren’t being met, they knew we could help. Atlantic Diving Supply, or ADS, was born to serve the unique needs of government customers and that has fueled our drive ever since.

Seventeen years ago, ADS was awarded its first major contract from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) as a prime vendor for the Marine, Lifesaving, Diving, and Search and Rescue equipment contract through Defense Supply Center Philadelphia. That contract, coupled with ADS’ commitment to those who serve our country, allowed us to deliver the products our customers needed more efficiently than ever before.

Twelve years ago, ADS was awarded the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Innovative Small Business Performer of the Year for innovations in logistics, including our support of the Battlefield Airmen Program.

Ten years ago, ADS was awarded DLA 5-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Tailored Logistics contracts for Fire & Emergency Services (FES). Eight years ago, ADS was awarded the same contract but this time for Special Operations Equipment (SOE). Under these TLS Program contracts, ADS continued to hold our team accountable to following through on our commitments and meeting or exceeding deadlines so we could provide legendary customer service, to every customer, on every order. We are still the prime vendor on these contracts today.

Four years ago, ADS’ initiative and hard work was recognized when we were awarded multiple nationally renowned awards and accolades. All in the same year, ADS ranked 8th overall for DLA contracts, ranked 57th on Top-100 U.S. Government Contractors list, was designated a Top 100 Military Friendly® Employer and Military Spouse Friendly Employer, and ranked the 35th Largest DoD Contractor in the United States by Bloomberg Government.

Today, we continue to focus on being a solutions-provider for our customers and approaching challenges with a positive attitude. For the last twenty years, our core values of drive, commitment, innovation, accountability, initiative, and attitude served, and will continue to serve, as the compass for the actions we take and decisions we make.

From Local Virginia Beach Dive Shop to Leading U.S. Defense Contractor

Few would have expected a business that began in a small trailer behind the Lynnhaven Dive Center would one day emerge as a leading U.S. Defense contractor. But at ADS, some 400 employees are celebrating twenty years of providing the men and women of the armed forces with critical equipment to get their jobs done safely and effectively.


20 Years of Legendary Service

ADS, Inc. takes you back in time to 1997—the year our roots began. For twenty years, ADS' customer service team has worked diligently to be there for our customers when they need us most. For end users, there is nothing more frustrating than relying on wrong or antiquated equipment during times of mission critical operations. As we reminisce how we got our start, it's important to pay tribute to the customers who became the building blocks of our success. In this video series, we tell the story of a young E3 Marine growing in tandem with ADS over the course of twenty years. Follow along as we address his concerns and solve his problems in varying capacities along the way.


We Fill in the Gaps

The year is 2009. Twelve years have passed since young Levi first contacted ADS for help correcting his pre-deployment boot order. ADS’ legendary customer service was there when he needed it most. He’s now an E8 in the Marines and has a hefty requirement list for his battalion with little time to research products or prices. Reminiscing his positive experience with ADS from 1997, he contacts ADS. To his immediate relief, after learning of ADS’ experience, vast supplier network, procurement channels, warehouse, shipping and logistics capabilities; he realizes he’s in good hands. We fill the gaps.


On Time. On Target.

In this video, we've come full circle in our journey back in time. The year is 2017 and Levi is currently an E9 in the Marines, serving on their Equipment Review Board. His trust in ADS, Inc. is unwavering, but his need to serve his country is constant. Even 20 years later, Levi continues to rely on ADS to fulfill crucial, time-sensitive needs. ADS continues to fulfill Levi's requirements on time, on target―here or in theatre.

20th Anniversary Celebration

ADS, Inc. employees got together on June 29 in Virginia Beach to celebrate 20 years of success! No party is complete without a dunk tank, inflatables, music, field games, refreshments, a candy bar, and local food trucks.

We are proud to celebrate two decades of commitment to our customers. That commitment is the reason a small business grew into a major economic driver locally and a force on the global stage. But this isn’t the end of the story. In many ways, it’s just the beginning.”
